The recently constructed Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center hasn’t exactly opened to an auspicious vibe after the first wave of guests before the grand opening later this month reported mice in the rooms along with an outbreak of a norovirus gastrointestinal parasite.
The latest property in Gaylord upscale hotel chain has been through what can only be described as a public relations nightmare, and A. Gorrell, the resort and convention centre’s public relations director described it as such. She says that the norovirus outbreak didn’t stem from the cleanliness of the resort or the food served, as the outbreak was specific to guests that were part of one conference. She says as for the mice, exterminators had been employed and holes left by construction crews had been sealed.
Despite these early hiccups, the planed grand opening at the end of this month is scheduled to go ahead as planned, and Gorrell remains optimistic. “Things can only get better. Onward and upward,” she said.
